Funeral services for Donna L. Ishman, 77, of West Union, Iowa, were held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating were the Rev. David Grant and the Rev. Stacey Nalean-Carlson.

Interment was in the West Union Cemetery. Casket bearers were Cary Chensvold, Terry Chensvold, Dana Ishman, Ron Ishman, Mike Holder, Chad Mannion, Christopher Mannion, and Dean Wentworth.

Arrangements were handled by Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union.

Donna's death occurred Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union.

Donna Lee (Bigelow) Ishman, daughter of Clyde and Gladys (Arp) Bigelow, was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Maynard.

She graduated from Hazleton High School.

On Dec. 9, 1972, Donna was united in marriage with Lawrence Ishman at Zion Lutheran Church in West Union.

Over the years, Donna was employed at Bemiss Bakery, Dick's Cleaners, Loftus Café, Speck Daniels' restaurant, all in West Union, and for 40 years, she was employed at the Town House Café in West Union, retiring in 2005.

Donna became a resident of Traditions Assisted Living facility, West Union, in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Vicki Chensvold, in March 2006.

Surviving are her husband, Lawrence Ishman of West Union; a daughter, Connie (Irvin) Holder of Hawkeye; a son, Ronald "Joe" (Maria) Mannion of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Janey) Bigelow of Arizona; two sisters, Betty Lou Fisher of Hot Springs, Ark., and Frances Kustic of California; several nieces and nephews.
