O. Alfred Olson, the son of Sampson Olson and his wife, Serene Amdahl Olson, was born February 16, 1886 near Clermont, Iowa. He was baptized in the First Lutheran Church near Ossian in April 1886 and confirmed on September 29, 1901.

He was married to Helen Heins at St. John's Lutheran Church, Dubuque, on March 5, 1921. After their marriage, the couple first lived at Clermont for two years, then moved to Waterloo, where he followed his trade as a cabinetmaker until 1955, when he retired and the couple moved to Postville to make their home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Sidney Olson of Waterloo and Jesse Olson of Clermont, and many other relatives and friends.

He had been in failing health for the last several years, and died at his home on December 28, 1963 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 12 days.

Funeral services were conducted at the Olson home on Tuesday, December 31, at 1:30 p.m. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery with the Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating.
