Rites For Mrs. Alfred Olson

Funeral services were held at the West Clermont Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Alfred J. Olson, who passed away May 21 at Postville Hospital. The Rev. John Kronlokken was in charge.

Mrs. Alfred J. Olson, born Amelia Pederson, April 18, 1884, the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Pederson of Clermont community, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, May 21, 1960 at Postville Hospital. Mrs. Olson was baptized and confirmed at East Clermont congregation. She was 76 years, one month and three days of age.

She married Alfred John Olson in December, 1908. Their family included eight children, six of whom now living are: daughters: Agnes, Mrs. Kenneth Ellis of Postville; Bessie, Mrs. Henry Hirsch of Marshfield, Wisconsin; Julie, Mrs. Orrin Rae of Waukon; Irene, Mrs. Clarence Thompson of Calmar; and Gladys, Mrs. Donald Kobriger of Waterloo; one son, Alfred Leonard Olson of Waucoma.

Mrs. Olson was an active member of West Clermont Church and had a Life Membership in the Women's Missionary Society.

She was preceded in death besides her husband in 1952, by two sons: Olaf who died in 1932 and Joseph who was killed in action in service of his country in 1943. Also by one sister Julie and a brother Pete, besides her own parents.
