Graveside services for LaVona Mulford, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.

LaVona's death occurred Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Moberly, Mo. Her body was cremated.

LaVona Wertenberger was born Dec. 20, 1916, in rural Washington County, Kan. She was the daughter of Leonard "Lennie" and Grace (Burke) Wertenberger.

At the age of 16, LaVona married Glen Dicks in Oklahoma. They later divorced.

Later LaVona married Rex Mulford of Elgin. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding LaVona in death was her daughter Glenda Williams.

Survivors include her sons, Gary Dicks of Sugarland, Texas, and Richard Dicks of Rosehill, Kan.; a daughter, Pauline Patrick of Moberly, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
