Evelyn R. Boyer, 81, of St. Lucas, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at the West Union Good Samaritan Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Rev. David Beckman at St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Lucas, on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Interment was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Ron Krivachek, Brayton Boyer, Brian Rausch, David Krivachek, Dennis "Junior" Boyer and Josh Boyer.

Arrangements were handled by Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, Chekal Chapel, Fort Atkinson.

Evelyn Rose (Krivachek) Boyer was born Jan. 26, 1928, to John and Elizabeth (Markovetz) Krivachek near Ossian.

Evelyn moved with her family to Fort Atkinson, where she attended St. John's Catholic School. After her graduation from Fort Atkinson High School in 1946, she worked for Bucheit Produce.

On Oct. 11, 1948, Evelyn married Raymond Boyer at St. John's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Together they operated the meat market in St. Lucas and assembled parts for DECO.

Evelyn was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, on March 21, 2001; an infant grandson; and two brothers, Edward and Johnny Krivachek.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Jerome (Lya) Boyer of Calmar and Rodney (Brenda) Boyer of St. Lucas; a daughter, Carol (Robert) Trevino of Spillville; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
