Albert Stoll was born Nov. 29, 1843,
at Basel, Switzerland, and died, after
a brief illness, Tuesday evening, Dec.
30, at the age of eighty-seven years,
one month and one day. At the age
of six he came with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Alois Stoll, to Cincinnati,
Ohio. Here the family remained until
the death of the father. A few years
later the mother married her brother-in-
law, Martin Stoll and the family
moved to Clermont, Iowa, where the
deceased had lived ever since. After
the death of his parents he made his
home with relatives, the Edwin Buser
family, and had the most tender care
for twenty-two years. Mrs. Buser
has done a noble work and we believe
the Lord will reward her for it.
Other relatives besides the Buser family
are, Lizzie Lefler of Calif., and
John Yauslin of Clermont.
Albert had a friendly disposition
and was liked and respected by all
who knew him. 'He was converted in
Wisconsin and had a strong faith in
his Savior. Whenever he could, he attended
the house of worship and tried
to live for his Savior. The following
words are appropriate at this time,
"On we haste to home invited,
There with friends to be united,
In a surer bond than here.
Meeting soon and met forever.
Glorious hope forsake us never,
For thy glimmering light is dear."
The funeral services were held Friday,
January 2, in the Union church
at Clermont, Rev. Ph. Lauer officiating.
A quartete of the Elgin Baptist
church sang three fine hymns. Interment
was made in the cemetery at
Clermont.
