Anson John Priest

Anson John Priest, son of John and Jennie Brown Priest, was born on October 9, 1881, at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and passed away Friday afternoon, June 26, 1964, at the Fayette county Hospital, Fayette, at the age of 82 years, the last member of his family.

On April 21, 1903, he was united in marriage to Katherine McGreevy at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont. To this union were born two daughters, Elizabeth and Susanna (Mrs. George V. Larson).

Anson served the community as a drayman for 25 years. He was also active in community affairs and served as chief of the Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He was with Burgess-Dugstad Lumber Company for several years and until his retirement.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Church, Clermont, Monday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. with a Requiem high Mass celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Thomas Currier. Burial was in St. Peter's cemetery.

Mr. Priest is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth of Corwith, Susanna (Mrs. George V. Larson) of Clermont, his son-in-law, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
