Alice Erickson
Alice Erickson, daughter of Halvor and Andrene (Johnson) Halverson, was born August 8, 1900, in rural Clermont. She passed away December 21 at the Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming, due to sudden illness.
She received her education in the Clermont Public School. She was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church.
In 1928 she was united in marriage to Peter Erickson and they farmed in the Waukon and Lansing area. No children were born to this union.
In 1950 Alice moved to Cheyenne, WY, where she took nurses training and worked in the City Memorial Hospital as a nurses aide until retirement.
Her hobby was painting portraits and scenery. Some of her paintings hung in the Cheyenne Museum of Art. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Albert, Martin and Dorf and four sisters: Susanna Kjosa, Josephine Ruckdashel, Tillie Hanson, Maude Gass.
Survivors include one sister, Jessye Schroeder, Postville, and may nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1:30 p.m. at Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Rim Thacker officiating. Interment was in East Clermont Lutheran Cemetery, rural Clermont, IA.
Pallbearers were Harold Halverson, Harvey Halverson, Stanley Schroeder, DeVere Halverson, Lynn Halverson and Harris Kjosa.
