CLERMONT WOMAN BURIED TUESDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Tollef Hanson, 63, who died Friday in Palmer Memorial hospital of a lingering illness, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Burnham-Wood Funeral home in West Union, followed by services in Clermont Lutheran church. Rev. S.B. Knudsen officiated, assisted by Rev. L.L. Nesvig, Stoughton, Wis., a relative of the deceased.

Interment was in the church cemetery with nephews and a cousin as pallbearers, Jerome Meyer, John Nesvik, Richard Nesvik, James Nesvik, Allen Nesvik, and Myron Eide.

Clara Sophia Nesvik, daughter of John and Christine Nesvik, was born Nov. 8, 1890, on a farm in Military township, Winneshiek county. She was baptized and confirmed in Stavanger Lutheran church.

On Sept. 3, 1913, she was united in marriage to Tollef Hanson. They established their home on a farm near West Union, where they have since resided. To them was born a son, Clarion, who together with her husband survives. Also surviving are her brothers, Berner C. Nesvik, Ossian; Clarence J. Nesvik, West Union; Leonard J. Nesvik, Kansas City, Mo., and a sister, Melvina, now Mrs. Werner Meyer, Ossian. Her parents and three brothers Peter Adolph, Melvin J. and Melvin Z. Nesvik, preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and active in its organizations, the Priscilla society and of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her health began to fail last summer, and in August she submitted to surgery.

Note: This is from an original newspaper clipping. The name of the paper and the date published are unknown, but possibly the West Union paper or the Clermont paper. All spellings, etc., are exactly as printed.
