Nichols S. Lang 1820-1905

LANG, HOLBERT, HARKIN, GLADWIN

Sunday,April 16, 1905 occurred the
funeral of N. S. Lang one of the
pioneers, of Fayette. Nichols S.
Lang was born in Virginia in 1820
and died April 15, 1905 on the old
farm in Fayette county. He moved
when three years old to Ohio where
he lived until 1854 when he came
west to Dubuque county. He came
to Deleware county in 1856 and to
Fayette county in 1864 where he resided
until his death. He leaves to
mourn him a widow and nine children,
Mrs. A. Holbert, of Strawberry
Point, J. A. Lang,of Erskine,
Minnesota, Mrs. E. Harkin of Aurora,
E. E. Lang, of Strawberry
Point, Mrs. J V Gladwin, of Arlington.,
W. A. Lang, of Greeley, I. E.
Lang, on the home farm, Leon and
Chas. Lang, of Erskine, Minnesota.
He was esteemed by all who knew him.
