Mary Dallenbach 1856- 1936

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dallenbach,
who died Tuesday, Dec. 1,
were, held at Union Evangelical church
Thursday, Dec. 3, Rev. E. C. Granner
officiating, and the body was taken to
Rockwell City for burial.
Mary Malinda Dallenbach, nee Moyer,
was born Sept. 4, 1856, at Manhattan,
Ill., and died near Summer, Iowa,
on Dec. 1, 1936, at the age of 80 years,
2 months and 27 days.
She was raised in a Christian home
and when she was 16 years old she
accepted Christ as her saviour. She
united with the Evangelical church, remaining
faithful until Jesus called her home.
On Feb. 16, 1879, she was united in
marriage to John W. Dallenbach. This
union was blessed with nine children.
Her husband and two children preceded
her in death.
The first year of her married life
she and her life companion lived at
Russell, Kan. From there they moved
to Banks township, Fayette county,
Iowa. After seven years they moved
to Symerton, Ill., where they lived for
27 years. After her life companion
was taken from her on Feb. 13, 1912,
she came back to Iowa and has been
living with her children ever since.
During the weeks of intense suffering
she was always glad to have her
pastor visit her and pray with her.
She expressed her readiness to meet
her Master in heaven. This desire was
granted her at 7:10 Tuesday evening,
Dec. 1.
She leaves to mourn her departure
seven children, four sons and three
daughters: William E. Dallenbach and
Frank E. Dallenbach of Rockwell City,
Mrs. Florence N. Sorge and Mrs. Minnie
L. Messerer of Sumner, and David
D. Dallenbach of Alta, 20 grandchildren
and one grent-granddnild; one
sister, Mrs. Sara Lowray of Maynard;
two brothers, Aaron Moyer of Oelwein
and Neil Younker of Rudehouse, Ill., as
well as many other relatives and
friends.
