Obituary— Mrs. Leo Farrell (rmf note: Doris Louise WIDGER)
Mrs. Leo Farrell who has been in poor health for more than a year passed away at her home on the corner of Water and Jones streets, Friday night, November 6 at eight-thirty. Doris Louise Widger was born July 26, 1905, in Fayette county, Town, where she has continued to make her home. She attended the Fayette Consolidated Schools from which she was graduated in 1923. Following her completion of a two year normal course at Upper Iowa, she taught for four terms in the Corn Hill school southeast of Fayette. She was married to Leo Farrell of Waucoma, Iowa, June 14, 1929, and part, of the lime they have made their home with her parents and part of the time in the residence just north of her parents home. One child Gerald Duane was born to this union who with the husband, and Mr. and Mrs. Widger survive. Mrs. Farrell had been in poor health for some months, her condition becoming especially marked last spring. She went to the Oakdale Sanitarium this fall but remained only a short time and since her return, her decline has been very rapid. She became a member of the Fayette M. E. church with the Easter class of 1927 and it was from this church that the funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, November 8, conducted by Dr. D. M. Parker. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hettler, accompanied by, Miss Anna Knos at the organ. The casket bearers were Harold Homewood, Lowell Pinch, Frank Richards, Arthur and Edward Robinson mid Arch E. Wood. Interment was made in Grandview Cemetery at Fayette. Among those from a distance to attend the last services wore George Welch, Mr. and Mrs. John Hamrick of Maynard; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Welch, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Welch of Waterloo: Mr. and Mrs. John Farrell of Waucoma; Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Hackett, Mr. and Mrs. Myrion Hutchison and family of West Union; Ivan Older of Iowa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Palmer and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Pendergast of Oelwein; Miss Velma Older of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bigelow and son; Miss Doris Hunter of Arlington; Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Servoss and daughter of Alpha; Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Hutchison of Lima; Mr. and Mrs. Knox, Misses Pauline and Leona Wendland of Hawkeye; Mr. and Mrs. Stedman, Mr. and Mrs. Hartson and family of Waucoma.
