Fayette Pioneer Died This Morning
Fayette, Iowa, Jan. 6—Peter Widger, about 77 years old of age, a long time resident of Fayette vicinity, who has been very sick for several weeks, passed away this morning at 10:30 at his home in Fayette. He was a horse buyer for years and partner with the late F. N. Holmes in the livery business. He drove the stage coach between Fayette and Lima for a long time. Later years he has been in the cattle business. 1:1 p married Mary Fauser, who survives him. The daughter, Mrs. Doris Farrell, died in November 1931 and since that time there has been a noticeable decline in Mr. Widger's health. The last few week's he has been critically' ill. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Ella Older of Fayette and a grandson, Gerald Farrell. No funeral arrangements have been made at this time.

Widger Funeral to Be Held Sunday in Fayette Church

Fayette, la.—Funeral services for Peter Widger, 79, who died Friday at West Union hospital after a long illness, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. Mr. Widger had been a resident of Fayette county 67 years, coming with his parents from New York when a boy. He attended the rural schools and worked on farms until in young manhood he took over a stage line running from Elkader to Fayette. He was also in the livery business in Fayette and for many years had been one of the best known horse buyers in northeastern Iowa. He married Mary Fauser of Fayette in 1879. An adopted daughter, Mrs. Doris Farrell, died last year. He is survived by his widow and one sister, Mrs. Ella Older, Fayette.
