JACK EUGENE PALMER DECEASED: Jack Eugene Palmer, youngest child of L. Eugene Palmer and Pearl May Fauser Palmer, was born at Oelwein, Iowa, February 27, 1917; and died at the home of his parents in Oelwein, August 14, 1924, at the age of seven years, five months and seventeen days. He spent his entire young life in Oelwein, attending the public, school and would have been this fall in the third grade. He also attended the Sunday School of Grace Methodist church regularly. He died of septic poisoning, the source of this poisoning could not be determined but it was thought that it came from a slight injury on the foot. He suffered extremely from Sunday until he died at twelve-thirty Thursday morning. He was a most likeable lad, a favorite in the home and among the adults as well as the children of the neighborhood. He was kind and loving to his playmates and obedient to his parents. Burial services were conducted at the home, 119 6th Avenue East, Friday, August 15th, at 2:30 by Rev. A. W. Henke, minister of Grace Methodist church. The body was laid to rest in Grand View cemetery, Fayette, Iowa.
