Funeral services are pending for
a pioneer resident of the Oelwein
area, Jesse Daniel Miller, 80, who
died at noon today (Thursday) at
his home at 631 N. Frederick.
Mr. Miller was born in Black Hawk
county and had resided in Oelwein
the past 36 years. He was a retired
carman for the Chicago Great
Western railway, a member of the
Carman's union and of the Daily
Register's Three Quarter Century Club.
Surviving are five sons: Lawrence,
Gilliam, Missouri; Floyd, Virgil and
Donald, all of Oelwein; Russell,
Waterloo; also four daughters, Mrs.
Doris Brant, Parkdale, Oregon; Mrs.
Ardys Garrison, Oelwein; Mrs. Lenora
Driscoll, Oelwein and Mrs. Maxine
Halbmaier, Waterloo.
Also surviving are three brothers;
Delbert, Fairbank; Harry, Cedar Falls;
Griffin, Oelwein and a sister, Mrs. Sylvia
Westendorf, Oelwein.
He was the son of Hiram D. and Salome
Adams Miller and was preceded in death
by his wife and one son.
Brant funeral home is in charge of
