The sad death by drowning, of Harold
Leroy Pooler occurred here on the
25th. Roy had coaxed his grandfather,
I. L. Hayes, to go fishing with him,
and the place selected was the mill
dam. While crossing the flume to
reach his grandfather Roy tripped on
a log and fell, striking a projecting
plank, which it is thought stunned
him, so that upon striking the water he
was unable to save himself.
