OELWEIN -- Lorin Francis Green, 87, of Oelwein, died Saturday, March 22, at Oelwein Health Care Center following a brief illness.

He was born May 25, 1920, in Letcher, S.D., son of Reese Reed and Florence Walrath Green. He married Esther Helen Stahl on June 23, 1946, in Mitchell, S.D.

Mr. Green graduated from Letcher High School and farmed with his father. He farmed in Mitchell until moving to Minnesota where he worked at a dairy and at a dehydrating plant. He later moved to Iowa where he worked for the Wester brothers of Cleghorn. In 1979 he moved to Fairbank where he was a feed and fertilizer salesman.

Survived by: his wife; five daughters, Kathy (Butch) Putzier of DeKalb, Texas, Beverly (Robert) Mahler of Cherokee, Joyce Mueller (Mark Angio) of Loveland, Colo., Jan (Brien) Mohlis of Fairbank and Denise (Loras) Little of Fairbank; two sons, Tom of Oelwein and Don of Missoula, Mont.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger (Neoma) of Hill City, S.D.

Preceded in death by: a stillborn daughter, Gloria; a brother, Robert; and three sisters, Doris in infancy, Carol and Eleanor.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Fairbank, with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
