Mrs. Vernon L. Courtney. 1005
Commercial street, died Sunday at
6:30 p. m. in St. Francis hospital of
septicemia. She was 28 years old.
Helen L. Green was born in November,
1913, at Oelwein, la., the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Green. She was married in 1931 to
Charles Breese. They were divorced
in 1939. She was married to Vernon
L. Courtney Dec. 4, 1940, at LaPorte City, la.
Surviving in addition to the husband
are three children by her first
marriage, Jack, Ted and Delores
Breese, all of Indianapolis, Ind..
and one daughter by the second
marriage, Judith Ann Courtney; a
brother, Howard. Oelwein; three
sisters. Mrs. Leslie Wetherbee and
Mrs. Benjamin Sims, both of Oelwein,
and Mrs Roy Lindstrom, Indianapolis,
and her father, believed
to be living in Des Moines. She was
preceded in death by her mother.
The body was taken to the Block
funeral home.
