An event which not only is memorable,
but leaves its impressing sadness
buried in many a heart in this entire
vicinity occurred last Friday. Last
Friday night. July llth, at 11:30, occurred
the death of Frank P. Rohrig at
his home near Stanley. When he went
to bed at half past nine o'clock he was
very well, as happy, kind, and loving
as all those who knew him always
found him to be. He never complained
of being sick and felt as well as anyone
can, but two hours after, at 11:30, he
passed from earth's hard labor and
care to Heaven's sweet peace and eternal
rest.
Frank was a very honest and industrious
hard working young man.
He was always kind and very willing
to aid others, and a friend of everyone,
and all who knew him feel sadly bereaved
over the loss of such a precious
friend. Frank P, Rohrig was born
near Solon, in Johnson county, Iowa,
on June 13, 1879. He with his family
in the spring of 1882 moved to Buchanan
county, where he remained to his
death, being 23 years and 28 days old.
To mourn over his untimely and sudden
death he leaves besides his grief
stricken parents, three brothers and
three sisters, numerous relatives and
an inumerable host of dear friends
from everywhere.
The funeral services occurred Sunday
afternoon at 2 p. m. After a short
service at the house his remains were
taken to the Stanley Union church
where Rev. Evans officiated, thence he
was taken and laid to rest in the
Otsego cemetery beside his two small
brothers who have preceded him to
Heaven's Eternal Home.
