MCLAUGHLIN, DAVINSON, DAVIDSON, MANNING

Miss Katie McLaughlin was born
at Victoria, Canada, May 20, 1858,
where she lived the early part of her
life. Latter on she moved to Fayette
county, with her parents, and In 1881
she moved to Benton county. One
year ago she went to Washington,
where she departed this life, June 10,
1894, and her remains found sepulchre
in the Otsego cemetery. It was the
wish of her relatives that her remains
would be brought here for interment.
At the age of 17 years she was converted,
and united with the Presbyterian
church, and was a faithful follower
and remained such until death claimed
her as its own. And now that the
light of her life has gone out we want
to bear witness to the goodness of her
heart and the many acts of kindness
in helping us on in the world. This
whole community mourns because of
her demise. Her faith in the goodness
of her maker was supreme, believed
in the Fatherhood of God, the
Brotherhood of man, and the immortality
of the son. She had no fear
of death and passed away to the realm
of her long sleep as a baby fulls asleep.
She leaves two brothers John and
Archie, and two sisters, Mrs. Davinson,
of Benton county, and Mrs. Samuel
Manning of this place, to mourn her loss.
Rev. Byers delivered the address at the Union
Church last Sunday.
