ARLINGTON - Services will
be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12
at the United Methodist Church
in Arlington for Loren Eugene
("Gomer") Smith, 43, of
Arlington, who died Wednesday
in a truck accident near La
Crosse, Wis.
Burial will be in the
T a y l o r v i l l e Cemetery,
Arlington. Friends may call
after 1 p.m. Friday at the Kerns-
Jamison Funeral Home in
Arlington. A memorial fund has
been established.
He was the owner-operator of
Loren Smith Trucking in
Arlington. He was a 1959
graduate of Oelwein High
School, and active in the
Arlington Businessmens Club,
Fayette County Cattlemens
Association and Fayette County
Pork Producers.
Surviving are his wife.
Virginia; a son, Mike, and a
daughter, Corrine, both of
Arlington; his mother, Erma
Smith of Vevier, Mo.; three
brothers, Gale and Dwight, both
of Macon, Mo., and Vernon of
Maynard; three sisters, Mrs.
Andy (Eunice) Gordish of
Oelwein, Mrs. Clifford (Alma)
Schlumbohm of Stanley and
Mrs. Margaret Klug of Bouton.
Iowa. He was preceded by his
father, Eugene.
