WHITE, SHORT

The funeral of Richard White occurred
at the M. E. church on the afternoon
of the 19th, the services being
conducted by Rev. Platt. Mr.
White was a native of Cornwall, England,
also his wife, Sarah Ann Short,
to whom he was married March 31st,
1858. They emigrated to Oshawa,
Canada, in June. 1857. To them were
born one daughter and four sons, who,
with their mother, mourn their great
loss. The family moved to Stanley
in 1889. Last spring Mr. White rented
the farm of O. P. King, about five
miles south-west of this place, where
he died of apoplexy about eleven
o'clock p. m., on the 17th, apparently
without warning. He was 63 years
of age. He was converted when he
was 18 years old. and has since been
a member of the M. E. church.—
