Mrs. Electa H. Ellis was born in
New York state May 3, 1841 and died
at her home in Oelwein, la., Nov. 19,
1913. She was married to C. R Ellis
Sept. 7, 1862. Her husband and six
children living to mourn the loss of
her death. The children living are as
follows:
Mrs. T. G. Huntley, of Aldrich, Minn;
Mr John Ellis, of Oelwein, la.;
Mrs. W. L. Pendergast, of Oelwein;
Mrs. D. A. Fox, of Oelwein; Mrs. C. F.
Curtis, of Ironton, Minn.; Mr. Joseph
Ellis, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Chas. Ellis died in Adams county in
April 1900. 13 grandchildren and 1
great grandchild also moutn her death.
The funeral services were held in
the home Friday, Nov. 21st, at 2 p. m.
Rev. C. E. McKeivery of the U. B.
church of Sumner officiated, because
of a request that a U. B. pastor officiate
at her funeral. Mr. and Mrs
A. R. Rothhorn, Mrs. R. E. Lease, Miss
Miley, of Oelwein and Mr. Edw. Shephoister
came as a choir from Sunner.
