Fremont Ogle (1862-1936)

OGLE, WILSON, PROUTY, FOSTER

Funeral services were held at
the lllyria church, Tuesday afternoon,
for Fremont Ogle who passed away
at his home north of town
Sunday. Rev. J. J. Snyder, Elgin,
officiated. |
Fremont Ogle, son of Joseph
and Sarah Ogle, was born November
7, 1862 on the farm in lllyria
Township, Fayette County, Iowa,
where he passed away October 25,
1936.
He was educated in the Rural
Schools of his community. For,
many years, he assisted his father
with the farming. Later he purchased
the estate and spent his
entire life at the occupation he
enjoyed most. |
He was united in marriage to
Mary Wilson, who survives
December 17, 1895. To this union
were born four children: Joseph;
who died at the age of nine
months, and William who died in
infancy. Thomas who is engaged
in farming at home, and Cathryn,
a teacher in East Waterloo schools.
He is also survived by two
grandchildren, Florence and
Joseph Ogle and two sisters,
Mrs. Martha Prouty. Elkadcr, la.,
and Mrs. Clara Foster, Dubuque,
Iowa. |
Mr. Ogle was a man who enjoyed
most of all his home and
family. He also was interested in
the community where he made his
I home so many years.
His casket was supported by
the following old friends and
neighbors: Wallace Peters, Herve
Robbins. E. E. Gehring, Stephen
Foxwell, Fred Rothlisberger, and
Frank Gehring.
The flowers were taken care of
by Mrs. A. G. Herrlinq. Mrs. Roy
Leonhart, Mrs. J. C. Kennedy and
Mrs. Mary Henrich of Wadcna.
Many relatives and friends
from Waterloo. Independence,
Oelwein, New Hampton, and other
surrounding towns attended the
funeral.
