CARRIE HOTH OBITUARY

Carrie L. Hoth, 87, died Friday, June 2, 2000, in Mercy Living Plus after a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. today, Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are with Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein.

Survivors include a son Larry of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Doris Carolan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lois Boies of Oelwein; and two sisters, Eleanor Coleman of Oelwein and June Davis of Osage.

OELWEIN......Funeral services for Carrie L. Hoth, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Grace Untied Methodist Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Robert Dagit officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 until 9 p.m. Monday (today) at Hintz-Geilendeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where ther will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Hoth, 87, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Mercy Living Plus, Oelwein, following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 30, 1911, in Smithfield Township, rural Maynard, the daughter of William H. and Ellen Payne Barnes. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1929. On March 25, 1932, she married William H. Hoth at the Methodist Parsonage in Oelwein. Mrs. Hoth was a homemaker and clerked in several Oelwein stores including J.C. Penny's and Meyer Lincoln Hardware, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and the Methodist Church Ladies Circle, the Order of Eastern Star No. 45, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Larry (Jeanette) of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Doris (Bernard) Carolan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lois Boies, of Oelwein; one daughter-in-law, Doris Hoth, of Marion; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Coleman of Oelwein, and June Davis of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1975; one son, Eugene W. in 1984; two brothers, Louis and Robert ( as an infant); two sisters, Doris Schatz and Mary Lou Tubbs; a son-in-law, Dick Boies; and her parents.
A memorial fund has been established.
