The funeral of Charles Thorman whose death was referred to last week occurred from the home in Oran Thursday forenoon at 10 o'clock, Rev. A. R. Toothacre officiating. Interment in the Oelwein in the Oelwein cemetery. Charles Thorman was born in Prussia July 16, 1834 and came to this country in 1853. Soon after his arrival he came to this section where he has resided for a half century. He is one of the pioneers of Fayette county, was a hard worker and acquired a competence. January 5, 1860 he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Schmidt. To this union were born four children, of whom three, Adolph, Minnie and Charles, together with the wife and mother, survive to mourn their loss.
