Edward Johnson

Services were held Friday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. at East Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, for Edward J. Johnson, who died at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union, Tuesday, July 20. The Rev. Clarence Johnson officiated.

Edward was the son of Julis and Kjerste (Paulson) Johnson. He was born January 27, 1887 on a farm in Marion township, Clayton county.

On February 28, 1914 he was united in marriage to Dena Mosby. They lived on the same farm from 1917 on.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Arthur Joseph; his wife in 1974; three brothers, Herman, Peter and Millard, and a sister in infancy.

Survivors include two sons, Elmer O. Johnson of Postville; Archie G. Johnson, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Duaine (Doris) Palas, Luana; seven grandchildren; one brother, Malvin Johnson and a sister, Mrs. Lena Anderson, both of Clermont.

Interment was in East Clermont cemetery.
