Funeral services for Tillie Johnson were held Thursday, August 4, 10 a. m. in the West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. Rev. Donald Loots officiated. Burial was in God's Acre Cemetery. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Tillie G. Johnson, daughter of Torkel and Sarah (Nelson) Reierson was born January 9, 1888 in Wagner Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Sunday, July 31, 1988 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville.

She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. She attended the Dry Run School near Elkader. On April 27, 1922 she was married to Emil Johnson. They had one daughter, Lillian. They farmed near Kenyon, Minnesota, then moved to a farm in Marion Township near Clermont. In 1944 they retired and moved to a home in Clermont. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville on July 20, 1987. She was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and Women of the ELCA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, who died May 14, 1953, one granddaughter, Rosalie Gunderson, and a great-grandson, Brent Sherman, 2 brothers, Henry and Ray Reierson, and 2 sisters, Louena (Mrs. Oscar Olson) and Mabel (Mrs. Arthur Erager).

Surviving are a daughter, Lillian and her husband, Martin Gunderson, Clermont, a granddaughter, Rosie and her husband, Kenneth Sherman, Newburg, Pennsylvania, a great-granddaughter, Valerie Sherman, 2 nephews, Vernon Reierson and Norris Reierson and 3 nieces, Myrtle Herrmann, Evelyn Ellestad and Helen Hunter.

Casket bearers: Arthur Amundson, Norris Reierson, Vernon Reierson, Emmett Gunderson, Vernon Anderson, Lorimer Ellestad.
