MRS. FRANK (Emma Wander) GORDON

Services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home Saturday, June 21 for Emma Gordon who passed away at the Skinner Rest home in Fayette, June 19 at the age of 87 years, four months and 12 days.

Emma was the daughter of George and Sarah Francis Wander, and was born on a farm near Clermont, February 7, 1882. She was educated in the country schools near her home and spent the greater share of her life in the Clermont vicinity.

On September 2, 1919 she was united in marriage to Frank Gordon of West Union. Mrs. Gordon was the last surviving member of a pioneer family of ten children.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. LaVilla Rowland of Clermont and three grandsons, Everett and James of Clermont and Sgt. David Rowland with the Armed Forces in Korea, and many nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Postville cemetery. The Rev. Walter T. Martin of Maynard, officiated.
