MRS. AUBRYE (Mable Etta Christianson) GUYER

Funeral services for Mrs. Aubrey Guyer were held Wednesday, February 13, at 11 a.m. in the West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. Rev. Donald Loots officiated. Special music was provided by Clarence Amundson, accompanied by Patricia Butikofer, organist. Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acre Cemetery.

Mable Etta (Christianson) Guyer was born May 31, 1907 on a farm near Elgin, Iowa. She died Saturday, February 9, 1991 in the Ossian Senior Hospice at Ossian, Iowa.

She was baptized in the Marion Lutheran church, Gunder and was graduated from the Clermont High School. On August 21, 1927 she married Aubrey Clifford Guyer at Clermont. They were the parents of 5 sons and 10 daughters. The couple farmed for 41 years in the Clermont, Elgin and West Union areas. They lived in Clermont for several years. Mable became a resident of the Ossian Senior Hospice on April 11, 1986.

She was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and the Women of the ELCA.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Aubrey, who died in 1983, 4 grandchildren, and a sister, Gladys.

Surviving are 5 sons: Douglas and Violet Guyer of Ossian, Rodney and Doris Guyer of Elgin, Ethan and Vivian Guyer of Hartsburg, IL, John and Ellen Guyer of Clermont, IA and Gary and Mary Guyer of Stevens Pt., WI; 10 daughters, Patricia and Sigvart Hofland, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Angeline and Carl Andrews of Palo, IA, Beatrice and Paul Benjegerdes of Postville, Arabella and Leslie Kleppe, Wanita and Harry Pape and Olivia and Steven Drewes, all of West Union, Kay Behnken of Monona, Rebecca and Robert Keehner of Luana, Rachel and Gary Woodson of Waterloo, Ia, and Cynthia and Dale Bilden of Clermont; 71 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Thelma Rajtora and Frances and Bob Sperry, all of Cedar Rapids.

Casket Bearers: Grandsons -- Daniel Guyer, Randall Andrews, Ethan Guyer, Jr., Shawn Kleppe, Garrett Guyer, Jeff Pape, Luther Keehner, Mark Hofland, Steven Guyer, Matthew Benjegerdes, Troy Guyer, Merritt Behnken, Gregory Drewes, Cameron Woodson, Anthony Bilden.
