Andrew Campbell, eldest child of David and Margaret Campbell was born June 8, 1843 near Sistersville, Virginia. When two years of age his parents moved to Buchanan County and for the last twenty seven years has lived in Stanley where he died aged seventy nine years, ten months and one day. On October 5, 1871 at Iowa City he was united in marriage with Elizabeth J. Eason and for fifty two years they walked through life together. Besides his loving devoted wife he leaves a son and two daughters, Alexander, Mrs. Claude Morey and Mrs. Chauncey Wharram to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. He also leaves six grandchildren, besides other relatives to mourn his passing. His parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. For the last thirty years he has been a faithful member of the Union church at Stanley and was always found in his place at all the services of God's house. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. McCullough pastor of the Union Church at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon April 11, 1923. Interment was made in the Stanley cemetery.
