Ethelyn Pearl Shippy was born at Grove Hill, Iowa July 18, 1883 and died at Kenmare, North Dakota, May 4, 1923. She resided in Iowa until 1918 since which time she has lived near Lansford, North Dakota. June 10, 1903 she was married to Jesse Clark at Oelwein, Iowa and to this union was given six children, four boys and two girls, Wilbur aged 19, Margery 17, Ray 14, Alice 13, Clair 2 1/2 and Clyde nine months old, all of whom are living and still at home.

In 1892 she was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and lived an earnest consistent Christian life to the last.
