Henry Holroyd was born Hudderfield, Yorkshire, England, October 17, 1843 and died at Corvallis, Oregon January 17, 1906. The remains arrived in Oelwein Tuesday and the funeral will occur at 2:30 pm Thursday, Rev. A. E. Moody officiating. Interment in the Oelwein Cemetery.

In company with his parents he came to America in 1846 and the family located in Wisconsin. In 1854 the family came to Fayette county and took up land south of the city. Mr. Holroyd continued to reside on the old home place til November 1903 when he moved to Oregon which has since been his home.

The maiden name of Mr. Holroyd's first wife was Miss Mary Webster, who died in 1895. To this union were born the following children --- Edward, James, Rose Lelacheur, Katherine Staples, Robert and John. All but the last named survive him.

In 1896 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Alice Barris, and they have two children --- Imojean and Harry by whom he is survived. Sympathy is expressed to the bereaved relatives.
