Warren Bush was born in Monroe county, Pennsylvania, April 21, 1827 and died September 26, 1909, being at the time of his death 82 years, 5 month and 5 days of age. He was married to Christina Workheiser December 31, 1859 at Monroe County, Pennsylvania. In the spring of 1857 they left their native state and came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Colesburg, Delaware county and lived there about 5 years, then moved near where they have since resided. There was born to this family 9 children, Edward A., Martha E., William E. of McGregor, Ruben H., Mary C., Joseph W., Mrs. A. S. Ladd of Oelwein and John Y. of San Diego, California. Of this number 3 of whom are deceased. He is survived by 33 grandchildren, his wife, two brothers and two sisters, one of which is Mrs. Emily Potts of Oelwein.

The funeral services were conducted at Bethel Congregational church by Rev. Gifford of Colesburg. Six of his grandsons acting as pall bearers all whose surnames were Bush.
