Alphie Reierson

Funeral services for Alphie Reierson were held Friday, May 19, at 11 a.m., at the East Clermont Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kim Thacker officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Alphie Theodore Reierson, son of Ole and Bertha (Mosby) Reierson was born January 14, 1911 at Elgin. He died Tuesday, May 16 in Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

He was baptized March 26, 1911. He attended the Clermont Schools. He lived in the Clermont and Elgin areas all of his life except for a period when her served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at the Elgin Canning Company until his retirement in 1976.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Bernice Vick and Gladys Bruckner and one brother Orvin Reierson.

He is survived by his stepmother, Marie of Elgin, 4 brothers, Glen and Donald of Elgin, Clarence of Walker and Robert of Postville, and 2 sisters, Darlene Abel of Belle, MO and Lydia Molokken of Clermont and many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the East Clermont Lutheran Church and also the Elgin American Legion.

Casket bearers were Clarence, Glen, Robert, Donald, Gregory and Jeffrey Reierson.
