The Christmas and holiday time have brought joy and gladness in many hearts, but it also brought sadness to others. There was not much but sorrow for the family and friends of Mr. Hela Sprague, formerly a resident of Oelwein, now residing near Mitchell, South Dakota. On the morning of December 23rd Nellie, aged sixteen years, died, and at five pm of the same day, Johnny, aged eleven, also died. They were both buried in one casket on Christmas day. Just six weeks before, Frank, aged 21, died of the same fatal disease, typhoid fever. The last heard from them; Rosa, thirteen years of age, was not expected to live. They surely have more than their full share of trouble and are deserving of the heartfelt sympathy of all friends and neighbors, being well nigh heart broken and discouraged.
