Mrs. Catherine McMillan died Sunday, June 14, 1908, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Ullman in this place.

She was born in Scotland in September, 1826, and came to Canada with her parents when 13 years of age. In January 1848 she was married to Alex McMillan, who died in February 1901. To the union were born twelve children, those who are now living being Arch of Oelwein, Robert of Stanley, Mrs. Fred Ullman of Edgewood, Mrs. Thos. Hood of Oakley, Kansas, Mrs. C. A. Spangler of Sebastapool, California, Mrs. Frank Garret of Morganville, Kansas, John of Independence, Mrs. P. C. James of Stanley and Will of Superior, Iowa. These with twenty-five grandchildren are left to mourn her death.

A short service was held at the house here Wednesday morning and the remains were taken to Stanley for burial.
