Jacob D. Doctor died May 25th, and the funeral occurred yesterday from the home of his brother, John B. Doctor in this city, conducted by Rev. Toothacre. Mr. Doctor was born in Pennsylvania, August 5, 1844. He came to Fayette county in 1869, and in 1876 was united in marriage to Miss Sabatha Bishop. To them were born three children who with the mother preceded him to the other world. Two brothers and three sisters are left to mourn his loss, John D. Doctor, Samuel Doctor of Scranton, Iowa, Mrs. W. Francis and Mrs. W. H. Gibson of Kings, Illinois and Mrs. Dr. Allen of DeKalb, Illinois. Jacob Doctor was a member of the I. O. O. F. and was highly esteemed having a wide acquaitance. Interment was in the Otsego cemetery.
