MANNING

Our community was greatly shocked last Friday when the news came that little Johnnie Manning had been killed. He was under a broken wagon with a load of oat sheaves on and as one of the hired men stepped up on the corner of the rack it tipped up, striking him, it is supposed, on the back of his neck, breaking it, which caused immediate death. Those of us who have children of our own could have something of an idea how his parents would feel when the news was broken to them. He was a very attractive little boy of seven years of age and loved by all who knew him. His bereaved parents have the deepest sympathy of the community. The funeral was held in the Stanley church last Sunday, Rev. Beyer officiating. His remains were taken to the Otsego cemetery for burial.
