Mrs. Chris Martin, 82, Clermont, Iowa, formerly of West Union, died early Saturday evening at the home of her son, Herbert Martin, Clermont, following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., at the Burnham funeral home and at Zion English Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, by the Rev. C. Bartels.

Mrs. Martin was born at Naperville, Ill., on April 14, 1862. She came with her parents to Iowa when four years old. She lived here until grown to womanhood, and then went to Nebraska, where she was married. They lived in Nebraska 17 years before returning to Iowa. They lived in West Union, going to live with their son at Clermont a few years ago. She has been in failing health since last fall being confined to bed the past two weeks.

Survivors are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. John Weidemann, Lodi, Calif; Mrs. R. A. Dubbert, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. P. M. Grimes, West Union; two sons, Richard Martin, Des Moines; and Herbert Martin, Clermont; four brothers, Henry Klinger, Roseburg, Ore.; Will Klinger, Salmon, Idaho; Simon Klinger, West Union, and Ed Klinger, Hancock, Minn.
