Minnie Ann Ross, oldest child of Samuel A. and Sarah Ross was born near Oelwein, June 6, 1868. She spent her childhood in and near Oelwein and attended the public schools completing her education at Fayette, after which she taught school for a number of years.

In March 1918 she was united in marriage to Henry E. Ross and for several years was engaged in business in Oelwein, later moving to Hazleton.

Mrs. Ross was one of a family of eleven children, all of whom preceded her in death except two sisters, Mrs. Walter Clausen of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Olaf Edel of Moline, Illinois and one brother, Harry G. Ross of Iowa Falls.

In girlhood she was united with the Baptist church of which she was a member at the time of her death. In the early hours of the morning on November twelfth, Mrs. Ross passed peacefully to her eternal rest, leaving besides those mentioned her devoted husband to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Bosshart funeral home at Hazleton and burial was made at Oran cemetery.
