Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Scott were held in Union Sunday School at Clermont, Iowa, at 2 p.m., Sept. 29, 1952, with Rev. Edwin G. Steinman officiating. Interment was in God's Acres Cemetery with William Calahan, Claude Gress, Will Nelson, Ed Burt, Harold Landsgard and Fred Cline, pallbearers.

Organ music and vocal selections were by Mrs. Lucian Appelman, Clermont, and Mrs. Steinman, Elgin.

Mary Elizabeth Scott was born on a farm near Lima to Dr. and Mrs. William Jones on June 13, 1872. She was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church.

On Feb. 11, 1893, she was united in marriage with Edmund Scott, West Union. Seven children were born to them. She lived in this area her entire life except for two years at Branson, Mo.

She suffered a light stroke Tuesday afternoon, and her death occurred Thursday evening.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Gruver, Pasadena, Calif.; two sons, Marion Scott, Pipestone, Minn., and Walter Scott, address unknown; two brothers, John Jones, Waterloo; Will Jones, Elkport; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her husband and four daughters preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Clermont Order of Eastern Star.
