Gina Martine (Ruroden) Amundson

Gina Matilda Martine, daughter of Ole and Mari Ruroden, was born June 24, 1881 on a farm near Elgin. She was baptized and confirmed in Marion Lutheran Church at Gunder, but later transferred to East Clermont Lutheran Church and later to West Clermont Lutheran Church.

She was married March 20, 1902 to Adolph Amundson and to the family were born five children. After years of illness during which time she was confined to a home, Mrs. Amundson passed away October 31, 1962 at the age of 81 years.

Preceding her in death besides her husband Adolph, were an infant son and another son Olvin, one sister and five brothers.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are a daughter Mabel (Mrs. Julius Johnson) of McGregor, a son Lloyd of Farmersburg, and the youngest daughter Gladys (Mrs. Donald Knapp) of West Union. There are also 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gina Amundson at East Clermont Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 3, 1962, were conducted by the Rev. John D. Kronlokken. Music for the service was by Art Amundson, with Diane Frieden organist. Casket bearers were Oscar Thompson, Henry Thompson, Dale Ruroden, Gordon Ruroden, Hildor Gilbertson and Millard Gilbertson. Interment was made at the East Clermont Cemetery.
