EDWIN "Ted" E. ANDERSON

Funeral services for Ted Anderson were held Monday, July 21, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. in the West Clermont Lutheran Church at Clermont, Iowa. The Reverend Joseph Nesheim officiated. Special music was provided by organist Janet Helgerson and soloist Arthur Amundson. The Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. The body was cremated and internment will be at a later date.

Edwin "Ted" Ever Anderson, the son of Andrew Neil and Ethel Rhoda (Stanton) Anderson, was born October 29, 1911, west of Clermont, Iowa. He passed away Friday, July 18, 1997, in Palmer Lutheran Health Center at West Union, Iowa. He had reached the age of 85 years, eight months and 19 days.

He attended school at West Union, Iowa. On December 18, 1932 he was married to Veryle Frances Nims at Elkader, Iowa. To this union, seven children were born. Veryle lives in Eldorado, Iowa.

On April 29, 1972 he was married to Violet M. (Gohde) Sautter at Independence, Iowa. During his lifetime, Ted has worked as a farmer and operated a bulldozer and hauled gravel. He had also been a school bus driver, a carpenter and worked as foreman at the insulation plant in Postville. He had lived in both the Fredericksburg and Clermont areas.

Ted had been a member of the Clermont Fire Department, serving as Fire Chief during that time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clair Anderson and one sister, Ana Anderson, and a step grandson, J. J. Sautter.

Surviving are his seven children, Marlene and husband, Bill Rosing, of Colorado Springs, CO, Joyce Anderson of Tacoma, WA, Jerry Anderson and wife, Linda, of Clermont, IA, Marilyn Anderson of Whittier, CA, Merle Anderson and wife, Jan, of West Union, IA, James Anderson and wife, Linda Kalhbaugh Anderson, of Iowa City, IA, and Julie Anderson Kane of Lynnwood, WA, four stepchildren, William Sautter and wife, Margaret, of Prairie du Chien, WI, Fred Sautter and wife, Bonnie, of Farley, IA, Terry Sautter and wife, Loretta, of Manchester, IA, John Sautter and wife, Debbie, of Clermont, 17 grandchildren, Gerry, Dean, Daniel, Kristi, Gregory, Marilee, Robert and Ken Rosing, Alec, Leah, Mark and John Dwelis, Tami Miller and Shane Anderson, Jenean Van Sickle, Jamie and Jennifer Anderson, nine step grandchildren, Tim, Billy, Jr. and Joel Sautter, Rick and Lisa Sautter, Shane and Chad Sautter and Tina Sautter and John Sautter, Jr.

Also surviving are 24 great grandchildren, Allison, Evan, Jessica, Forrest, Katie, Ben, Nicole, Louie, Shanna, Brandon, Brittany and Courtney Rosing; Jolene, Leslie, Cassidy, Alexa, John, Jeff, Kristi and Jordan Dwelis, Jodie and Thomas Miller, Rory and Brody Van Sickle; several step-great grandchildren and a brother, Millard Anderson and wife, Mabel, of Sumner, Iowa.

Casket bearers were Shane Anderson, Tim Sautter, John Sautter, Jr., Alec Dwelis, John Dwelis and Rick Sautter.

Honorary casket bearers were Rory Van Sickle, Brody Van Sickle, John T. Dwelis and Jeff Dwelis.
