Glen Milford Nims, son of Frank (Sr.) and Mabel (Brown) Nims, was born July 6, 1920 at Eden, near Waucoma in Fayette County. He died October 10, 1981 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

He was raised on a farm and attended country schools in the West Union area. July 21, 1940 he was married to Betty Wood. To this union three daughters were born.

Glen worked with Sersland-Winslow of Decorah, drilling wells along the Alaskan Highway. For about eight years they farmed in the West Union and Clermont area.

He worked as a mechanic for Fred Cline, Ford Garage and Richard Osterhus Garage in Clermont before going into business for himself. With the help of his family, he built the Riverside Garage and Auto Sales. In 1973 he purchased his first semi truck and operated the Riverside Truck Line and the garage until his death.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and a sister, Evelyn Hegland. Surviving besides his wife, Betty, are three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Loftsgard, Mrs. Willis (Shelvy) Schott and Mrs. Phyllis Jacobson, all of Elgin; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Melvin of Fayette and Frank of Clermont, and a sister Mrs. Veryle Anderson of Decorah.
