MRS. JACOB (Bertha Evelyn Tinderholt) WANDER
Rites Held For Mrs. J. Wander
Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Wander were conducted Wednesday, Marcy 21, at West Clermont Lutheran Church, the Reverend John D. Kronlokken officiating. Interment was made at God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.
Bertha Evelyn Tinderholt, daughter of Andrew and Hilda Tinderholt, was born December 17, 1911 at Lilly, South Dakota. She was baptized at Lacquiparle, Minnesota, by the Rev. B. K. Barstad, while visiting with relatives. She was confirmed at Lostwood, North Dakota, where the family resided after a brief residence in Canada. Later she came to Ossian, to work for relatives.
She was married June 9, 1933, at Greeley, Iowa, to Jacob Wander of Castalia. They later moved to their present farm near Clermont. To the family were born four children.
Mrs. Wander had been ill for more than a year, and after much medical care, she passed away at her home on Saturday evening, March 17, 1962, at the age of 50 years and three months. Preceding her in death are her parents and a brother and sister who died in infancy.
There remain to mourn her passing, beside her husband, Jacob, the four children, who are: Betty, (Mrs. Roy Halvorson) of Elgin, James of Elgin, and Jerry and Steven, both at home on the farm. Also there are six brothers: Clarence and Martin of Anacordes, Washington; Arthur, Leonard and Palmer of Lostwood, North Dakota; and Clayton of Billings, Montana; and three sisters: Lillian, (Mrs. James Trathen), Billings, Montana; Ruby, (Mrs. Leonard Ellingson) and Lila, (Mrs. Stanley Purrington) of Minot, North Dakota; also seven grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
