MRS. ANDREW O. (Emma Louise Iverson) ANDERSON
Funeral services for Emma Anderson were held Friday, December 31, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church. The Reverend Kim Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery.
Emma Louise Anderson, daughter of Iver and Martha (Watterud) Iverson, was born April 26, 1883 in Clayton County, Iowa. She passed away December 29, 1982 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville at the age of 99 years.
She was baptized May 13, 1883 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church and confirmed October 9, 1898. She received her education in a country school in Clayton County.
On August 23, 1905 she was married to Andrew O. Anderson at the home of her parents. Three sons were born to this union. They farmed north of Clermont until the death of her husband in 1950. She and son Milo continued to live there until 1967 when they moved to Clermont. After Milo died in 1974, she became a resident of the long-term care section at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville. In 1977 she entered the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.
She was a member of the East Clermont Lutheran Church until 1916 when she transferred her membership to the West Clermont Lutheran Church. She had been a faithful member of the Mission Society, the A. L. C. W. and Japan Circle and also a member of the Woodland Study Club.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, a son, Milo, a brother and sister in infancy, two brothers, Andrew and Nels, and two sisters, Tillie Iverson and Nora (Mrs. Martin Anderson).
Surviving are her two sons, Ivan of West Union and Allan of Elgin, three grandchildren, Mavis (Mrs. Eugene Lehman) of Elgin, Danice (Mrs. LeRoy Larson) of New Hampton, and Stanley of Elkhart, IN, and seven great grandchildren, Jeffrey, and Joni Lehman, Lynne, Jill and Dawn Larson, Marita and Mark Allan Anderson.
