HOLD RITES FOR JOHN BURROW

Funeral services for John William Burrow, 84, were held Friday, February 20, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.

John Burrow, son of Fred and Eureka (Griebenow) Burrow was born Sept. 6, 1896 near Elgin. He died Feb 17, 1981 at Maple Crest Manor at Fayette.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church and has been a member of this congregation since that time. He grew up in the Elgin area and attended local schools.

Mr. Burrow was a veteran of World War I. He enlisted in the Army, July 24, 1918 and served two years in France. He was a member of the American Legion and World War I Veterans. March 10, 1921 he was united in marriage to Mabel Larson at Clermont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Herman, Fred, Charles, August, and Albert; two sisters, Mrs. Dave (Ida) Erhardt and Mrs. Charles (Clara) Learn.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Rex (Marcella) King of San Jose, Calif.; three grandsons, Dan of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Michael of Golden, Col.; and Mark, of Waterloo; a great-grandchild; one sister, Anna Fritz of Cedar Falls; and one brother, William Burrow of Postville.
