Mark Alan Thorson

Services were held for Mark Thorson on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the East Clermont Lutheran Church, rural Clermont, and conducted by Rev. Kim Thacker. Interment was in the church cemetery. Muehlethaler's Funeral Home, in Elgin, was in charge of the arrangements.

The casket bearers were Drew Loftsgard, Jerry Thorson, Billy Bacon, Ed Schneider, Wayne Amundson and Kim Dummermuth.

Mark Alan Thorson, son of Eugene and Anna (Bachtell) Thorson, was born Sept. 8, 1963, at West Union. He was raised and educated in the Clermont and Elgin areas where he graduated from Valley High School in 1982. He was baptized at East Clermont Lutheran Church, and confirmed at West Clermont Lutheran Church.

Mark worked with his father farming for a time, and also with Roger and Wayne Amundson. He presently was employed at Dummermuth farms near Elgin.

He died Sunday morning Sept. 23, as a result of an auto accident near Elgin.

He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Anna, rural Clermont; a brother, Evan, Clermont; three sisters, Catherine, Mrs. Charles Champion, Las Vegas, Nev.; Barbara, Mrs. Phil Torrance, Oquawka, Ill., and Pamela, Mrs. Jack Williams, Westgate; and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Marian Bachtell, McGregor; several nieces and nephews.
