Death Claims Clermont Couple

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13, 1971, in East Clermont Lutheran Church for Alphie Thorson, 71, who died suddenly at his home in West Union on Sunday, May 9.

Funeral services were held on May 18 for Mrs. Alphie Thorson (nee Myrtle Lien) who passed away at Palmer Memorial Hospital in West Union on May 15 at the age of 67.

Mr. and Mrs. Thorson lived on a farm near Clermont until April of 1966 when they moved to West Union.

They are survived by four children: Eugene Thorson of Clermont; Mrs. Wm. (Minerva) Bacon of Elgin; Mrs. Eugene (Velma) Moorhead of Phoenix, Arizona; and Charles Thorson of Clermont. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers.

Burial was in East Clermont cemetery.
